Gerard Talks About Umbrella Academy at the Watchmen Premier

Quote :: Last night was the Los Angeles premiere of “Watchmen”. While the yellow carpet was packed with journalists, I still managed to get tons of interviews with the people involved in making the movie and the one you’re about to watch is with the lead singer of My Chemical Romance, Gerard Way.

As most of you already know, the band recorded a cover of Bob Dylan’s "Desolation Row" for the movie and it’s played over the ending credits. But what most of you don’t know yet is that the song is extremely loud when it’s played. In fact, when I saw “Watchmen” I couldn’t believe how loud it was.

And according to Gerard, it’s meant to be like that. He said there were discussions about the volume and it ultimately got decided to be really loud. You’ll hear it this weekend when you finally watch the Watchmen.

Finally, Gerard is also the creator of the comic book “Umbrella Academy” and he says it’s being fast tracked at Universal Studios. He also tells us what else is going on with the project and how he’s more than happy to let it go to filmmakers when it’s time.
