- My Chemical Romance may have thrown a Black Parade back in 2006, but in the three years since its release the guys haven’t released much new music. But there’s been a lot of buzz over their cover of Bob Dylan’s “Desolation Row” for the hotly anticipated “Watchmen” film out this Friday.
With new music out there, fans are wondering when will MCR hit the studio and release a new album?
See what MCR have to say about their writing style after the jump!
“I would say the only pressure for us is to write great songs. That’s the question we constantly ask ourselves,” the band’s Ray Toro told MTV News. “I don’t know if we are directly comparing it to Black Parade or anything we have done in the past, but more, ‘Is the quality good here and now?’ ”
Black Parade was very high-concept, but this time lead singer Gerard Way assures fans the only concept will be the lack of one. “In every record I like to think there are snapshots of what your band is at that moment — this is really going to be that,” he explained. “I think there is going to be lack of concept. I think it’s going to be direct and very honest. It’s not going to be hiding behind a veil of fiction and makeup and uniforms anymore. And that kind of stuff is very exciting to me.”
